![]() Bittersweet Pastries was created in 1984 as a Pastry Shop/Tea Room in the small New York suburban village of Piermont, by Phyllis Trier, who, with her husband Bob, still runs the company today. In 1985, Bittersweet began developing mail-order desserts that could be shipped nation wide. They also began selling their desserts to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and gourmet stores. As the business grew, the little pastry shop was replaced with a much larger wholesale bakery in a neighboring town. Over the years Bittersweet Pastries has created many new unique products, specializing in hand crafted, hand decorated tarts, and cakes, as well as individual desserts. Many of them have won awards at the International Fancy Food Shows, held annually in New York City; and are considered to be among the best desserts in the country. Bittersweet Pastries' award winning desserts are now sold all over the United States, and in the Caribbean, as well as to international airlines and cruise ships. Through Bittersweet Pastries Direct, consumers can purchase these same desserts as well as Birthday cakes and other products designed especially for their mail order customers. Now residing in their 3rd, and even larger facility in Norwood, N.J., Bittersweet Pastries remains dedicated to producing the finest quality desserts for all of their customers.
